Max Baer (February 11, 1909 – November 21, 1959) was a famous American boxer of the 1930s, one-time Boxing Heavyweight Champion of the World, and actor. He was a fighter of Jewish descent who defeated Adolf Hitler's German favorite, Max Schmeling, before going down to the "Cinderella Man", Jim Braddock.

You may have come to this site out of curiosity about the boxing champion who was portrayed in director Ron Howard's movie, Cinderella Man. If so, you will find that his biography shows us that he was a much more complex, interesting and sympathetic character than the fighter who was labeled as a killer in the film.
